Trading with Interval International ll
I went against all the experts advice and bought my first Marriott resale to trade. It is a two bedroom lockoff low season, which means you can split it into a one bedroom and a studio and get two weeks vacation. My kids love disney and that was the main reason I bought it to trade into Florida. Florida is over populated with timeshares so trading in has never been a problem. For the last 5 years I have traded my studio for a two bedroom Marriott. We have gone in August, May, November, and October. We have never tried a school vacation week, this would be harder to get. In order to trade with Interval you must first reserve your week and decide to lockoff or not thru Marriott. Once you have your week booked, you can deposit it into Interval. Being a Marriott owner you get a preference to trade into another Marriott resort. We always decide when we want to go and then check to see availability. If nothing is available you can put a request into Interval. They will continuously check for a match and notify you if they get one. While trading into Florida has been no problem, if you own a low season week you will have problems getting prime weeks into other resorts unless you are flexible. Marriott, thru Interval has what they call flextime. At 59 days or less all inventory is seen by all weeks. If you are flexible you can get some great weeks. I have had no problems going where my family had wanted outside of flexchange. We have traded a one bedroom for California in October, we exchanged a one bedroom for a 3 bedroom in West Palm Beach (Right on the ocean) If you would like to check out a great book on using Interval International Click Here
