Advice on Buying a Timeshare and avoid the timeshare pitch

It is difficult to watch many families on vacation getting suckered into attending a timeshare presentation. Timeshares are great but you should never buy from the developer. Families are enticed to attend a presentation buy being offered discount tickets to dinner or a park . Once in these presentation you are pressured into buying and don't realize that you paid way too much. There are many resale sights that sell timeshares for much less. I bought all my timeshares on Ebay. I currently own two Marriotts, One in Utah and One in Palm Springs. I want you to understand that I could never afford owning a Marriott. My Desert Spings is a Red week which is the prime weeks to own. This timeshare would have sold for over $20,000 dollars, I paid $500 dollars. You really can get good bargains resale, hence never buy from the developer.
There is a website that is really great, Timeshare Users Group, (http://www.tug2.net/) I check it everyday. I strongly recommend that you visit this site, if you are thinking of purchasing a timeshare. You should also be aware that there are maintenance fees that come with owning a timeshare. The advice from all the experts is buy a timeshare where you want to go each year. I can only tell you my experiences and you can decide what is best for you. The first timeshare I bought is my Marriott in Park City,Utah. I have no intentions of going there, but I wanted to get into the Marriott system to trade into other Marriott resorts. It has worked out unbelieveably well. I will tell you about my trades in my next report. In the mean time Please check out the links above on trading.
